Examples of some of our product finishes for plastics:
Durium® modified polyester enamels. These high solids two-component coatings provide urethane-like properties without isocyanates. When the two components are mixed prior to use, a chemical reaction takes place which permits the Durium® to be cured either at room temperature or force dried or baked. The coating has long workable potlife, and is texturable by adjustment of spray technique, resulting in a finish with a balance of hardness and flexibility, superior resistance to surface marring, mildew, staining, heat, water and many corrosive chemicals. This coating is specified by major manufacturers of medical equipment for use on plastic and composite components of diagnostic equipment used in hospitals, as well as many other applications including rail passenger car interiors and business machines, for example.
High solids urethanes. These high solids two-component enamels are based on high quality acrylic polymers with isocyanate hardeners, and are available in any color or gloss range. There are many applications for plastic finishing with high quality urethanes, including areas where excellent exterior durability is required.
NISO acrylic epoxy enamels. These high solids two-component coatings are based on acrylic polymer technology which provides the performance of two-component urethanes, without the concerns that may be associated with isocyanates. They are “Non-ISOcyanate: NISO”. Applications of these coatings include end uses where a non-isocyanate option is preferred.
Single-component waterborne acrylic urethanes. These coatings, available as clears in several gloss levels, as well as pigmented colors, are designed to provide a rapid drying finish with superior hardness, flexibility and solvent resistance. Using the latest in waterborne acrylic urethane technology, these coatings have superb appearance, while meeting VOC compliance levels for years to come. They are non-flammable, do not contain HAP solvents, and are free from isocyanate hazards. Applications for this coating include electronic enclosures and surfaces, furniture components, and other applications where a non-yellowing tough, chemical resistant finish for plastic is desired.
Waterborne acrylic lacquers and enamels. Available as pigmented color coats, including metallics, texture finishes, special effects, as well as clear coatings, our waterborne acrylic coatings provide rapid drying finishes with low Volatile Organic Content. These environmentally friendly coatings are non-flammable and offer easy application and clean-up. Some applications include office furniture components and modules, cabinetry and many areas where a quality finish is required.
UV Cure coatings for plastics.Meeting your specific requirements, we have the capability to formulate 100% solids or waterborne coatings for plastics. Available in both clear and pigmented forms, these are instantly cured using ultraviolet (UV) light.
